The UCD General Library Digital Initiatives Program brings together
digital expertise from throughout the library in order to create,
preserve, and provide online access to non-commercial collections of finding aids, manuscripts, rare
books and photographs.
Included on the Projects page
are links to the Eastman Collection of Digital
Photographs and British Women Romantic Poets Archive.
We also link to other UCD collections of photographs and TEI-encoded texts. From our navigation bar, we link to non-commercial
content repositories at the California Digital Library, including the Online Archive of California, Counting California, and the eScholarship Repository.
Collections are textual and pictorial, sometimes
accompanied by contextual or scholarly commentary. More formats will
be added in the future. The emphasis in choosing
collections for digitization has been on providing access to rare
and unique materials that support the library's collecting and
instructional goals.
Individual collections are accessible through their own websites,
or through the California Digital Library's Online Archive of California.
We link to collection or project home pages, and, where available, to
search interfaces for UC Davis digital texts hosted by CDL. In the future,
we hope to implement searching within and across UCD Library collections
and documents.
